Episode 8, August 4: Fabiola Carranza and Michelle Helene Mackenzie on Althea Thauberger

In this episode of SFU Galleries’ Listening to Pictures, Fabiola Carranza and Michelle Helene Mackenzie discuss Althea Thauberger’s Ecce Homo (2011), a work in the SFU Art Collection first made as a large-scale photographic mural for the City of Vancouver Public Art Program. The photograph restages Jacques-Louis David’s Death of Marat (1793) through the CBC series Da Vinci’s Inquest, and the conversation follows its threads between Western art, Vancouver politics and everyday life.
