Sound work: Echea I and Echea II
Graham Landin's Mushroom Honey, Richmond, BC, August 17 – September 15, 2019

A collaboration with Ryley O’Byrne on the relationship between sound and vessel, and the capacity of ceramic space to hold, amplify and create music or stories. Echea I is composed from the resonant frequencies and feedback of O’Byrne’s ceramics; Echea II combines ceramic tones with electronics, modular synthesizer and field recordings.

Drawing on the myth of Echo, the work treats resonance and doubling as a way to unsettle singular identity.

Exhibited August 17, 2019, as part of Graham Landin’s Mushroom Honey, and by appointment until September 15.
